The MMC4041 large diaphragm omnidirectional microphone cartridge is a part of our modular microphone system and can be used with the Modular Microphone Preamplifiers MMP4000-S (Solid State) and MMP4000-SP (Solid State Phantom Power).The diaphragm and the housing are both made from stainless steel, which gives the capsule a unique immunity against ambient temperature variations. The precision-made back plate is placed in a quartz insulator for maximum electrical stability and is polarised with 190V via the HMA5000 Microphone Amplifier giving the MMC4041 a unique sensitivity of up to 90mV/Pa. The frequency response from 10Hz to 20kHz with a 4-6 dB soft boost around 8kHz matches the response of the highly acclaimed Type 4040 Hybrid Microphone. Furthermore, the MMC4041 has an extremely low self noise of typical 7dB(A) with the MMP4000-S, as well as an enhanced SPL handling capability of up to 144dB SPL before clipping occurs.
