The wide and versatile pencil mic series is legendary in the high-end recording and film production industry. Delivering clean, accurate sound, the mics in this series are used by professionals, who understand sound and insist on only using the best.

We have collected our award-winning recording microphones in specialized stereo pairs that are matched within either ±0.5 dB, ±1 dB ±1.5 dB, depending on the pair you choose. Explore the stereo pairs below.

      2006 Omnidirectional Stereo Pairs

These kits contains a complete stereo pair; two handpicked 2006 Twin Diaphragm Omnidirectional Microphones, selected on sensitivity within ±1.5 dB. The mics deliver precise sound and true tone. These mics are ideal for use with orchestra, acoustic piano, guitar, wind instruments and choirs. The two 2006s comes with Clips and Windscreens all packed in a Peli™ Case.

The 2006 Twin Diaphragm Omnidirectional Microphone

Inside the MMC2006 Twin Diaphragm Omnidirectional Capsule, two opposite-facing miniature capsules are custom rebuilt. They are placed into a double-diaphragm, one-capsule composition. This combines the advantages of small capsules with the lower inherent noise achieved from a larger diaphragm area. These capsules provide fast impulse response and large frequency bandwidth.

The capsules are loaded to DPA's supreme recording mic series preamplifiers instead of the tiny miniature FET ones. This gives the sound more air and precision.

Comparisons with its big brother, the iconic 4006 Omnidirectional Microphone, are inevitable. The relationship between the two can be clearly heard. The 2000 series performs as well as more exclusive microphones. It is a premium-class microphone and redefines the term value for money.

      ST2006A Stereo Pair
Together with the MMP-A preamp this condenser mic bridges the gap between the extreme sound quality of our recording mic series and our well-known miniature mic series.

      ST2006C Stereo Pair
Together with the MMP-C preamp, the ST2006C makes a small, lightweight and inconspicuous main AB stereo pair. The two 2006C comes with Clips and Windscreens all packed in a Peli™ Case.

The mics deliver precise sound and true tone. Meeting classic architecture and installation requirements, these mics can be mounted, hung or concealed to create clean, transparent recordings.

      2011 Cardioid Stereo Pair

This complete stereo pair contains two handpicked 2011 Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphones, selected on sensitivity within ±1.5 dB. These mics make several stereo principles like XY and ORTF easy to obtain. The pair contains mics, windscreens and clips all packaged in a Peli™ Case.

The 2011 Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphone

Inside the 2011 Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphone, two opposite-facing miniature capsules are custom rebuilt. They are placed into a double-diaphragm, one-capsule composition. This combines the advantages of small capsules with the lower inherent noise achieved from a larger diaphragm area. These capsules provide fast impulse response and large frequency bandwidth.

      ST2011A Stereo Pair
These mics are acclaimed for their close-miking excellence and hi-SPL handling. Optimized for onstage use, it has been used on many stages as well as recording sessions. They exhibit a previously unheard blend of clarity, richness and dynamic range. The off-axis response is linear but in a smaller frequency bandwidth. This makes stage separation and gain-to-feedback higher. The mic level is easier to control.

The foam design in the heavy-duty transportation box allows for fast and easy exchange of the microphone/accessory inlays.

      ST2011C Stereo Pair
Together with the MMP-C preamp, this makes a small, lightweight and inconspicuous stereo pair.

The compact design and controlled directionality of these mics make them an excellent choice for spot mics for classical recording and on-stage close mics for live sound.

      4006 Omnidirectional Stereo Pair

Even though the standard tolerances on our recording microphones are extremely low, a stereo match is even closer. These specially selected 4006 Microphones are matched within ±0.5 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity. The pair comes in a heavy-duty Peli™ Case for safe transportation and easy access to the microphones and accessories.

      The 4006 Omnidirectional Microphone

The 4006 Omnidirectional Microphone offers total transparency in any recording situation. It picks up incredible detail and depth of sound. The definition of its high-frequency characteristics across a wide range of instruments is impressive. It offers natural sound, high sensitivity, low noise-floor and extremely linear frequency response from 10 to 20 kHz (±2 dB).

A selection of optional accessories can be purchased, including acoustic pressure equalizers, a nose cone and interchangeable protection grids. These accessories can acoustically transform the mic. By changing grids, it is possible to gain several unique frequency responses and directional characteristics from the mic. Furthermore, these accessories will not produce any phase shift, noise or distortion that would otherwise be introduced by an electrical filter.

      ST4006A Stereo Pair

The 4006A Omnidirectional Microphone is a flexible solution. Engineers, broadcasters and musicians alike can achieve clean, natural and precise sound reproduction. This mic is ideal for A-B stereo pairs for symphonic concert hall recordings. It also excels on vocals, for close-miking all types of instruments and as an outdoor interview microphone.

For reference stereo recording, there is no better choice than a d:dicate™ 4006A Omnidirectional Microphone. These omnidirectional condenser microphones are linear and true in character. They come as a hand-matched pair that offers the truest capture of stereo sound available.

      ST4006C Stereo Pair
This kit is similar to the ST4006A Stereo Pair, using the same MMC4006 Omnidirectional Microphone Capsule to gain its amazing sound. Whenever a small, lightweight, inconspicuous microphone for top-quality recording is required, a 4006C Omnidirectional Microphone is the right choice. They come as a hand-matched pair that offers the truest capture of stereo sound available.

      4011 Cardioid Stereo Pair

Even though the standard tolerances on our recording microphones are extremely low, a stereo match is even closer. These specially selected 4011A Cardioid Microphones are matched within ±1 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity. The pair comes in a heavy-duty Peli™ Case for safe transportation and easy access to the microphones and accessories.

      The 4011 Cardioid Microphone
The principal appeal of the 4011 Cardioid Microphone is its directional quality and attention to detail. This mic makes everything sounds like the original. The first-order cardioid pickup pattern provides superb separation between sound sources.

It is equally suitable for close-up work on acoustic guitar, grand piano, overheads, percussion, wind instruments and vocals as it is for spot-miking symphonies. It can handle incredibly high sound levels and even includes a 20 dB pad switch in the center of the XLR connector to attenuate the output of the microphone.

A flat on-axis frequency response and excellent phase response deliver a totally faithful reproduction of the original sound. The off-axis response is similarly smooth so that any leakage is an accurate reflection of the original, though attenuated according to the true first-order cardioid pickup pattern.

      ST4011A Stereo Pair
This condenser microphone is renowned in recording studios and live applications around the world as an exceptional mic. State-of-the-art components have been carefully selected to provide optimal neutrality, accuracy and extremely low distortion.

      ST4011C Stereo Pair

This pair is similar to the ST4011A Stereo Pair, using the same MMC4011 Cardioid Microphone Capsule to gain its amazing sound. Designed to be hidden from view, the diminutive design and high performance of the 4011C Cardioid Microphone, Compact makes it the outstanding choice for unobtrusively miking all types of television, film, theatre, concert and studio performances.

When used to spot-mike larger orchestras, these mics are hard to beat. Capable of handling high SPLs without distortion, the 4011C Cardioid Microphone, Compact is perfectly tailored for close-miking applications; minimizing bleed from other instruments. In film and TV studios, they are excellent for off-camera voice recording or Foley work. For live on-camera recordings, their matte black finish gives them a classic yet inconspicuous appearance, while for sound reinforcement in concert halls, theatres and houses of worship, they provide clean, natural sound while reducing the noticeable effect of lighting reflection.

      4015 Wide Cardioid Stereo Pair

A complete Stereo Pair with two carefully factory-matched 4015 Wide Cardioid Microphones. Even though the standard tolerances on our recording mic series is extremely low, a stereo match is even closer. These mics are matched within ±1 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity. The pair comes with two 4015 mics, clips and windscreens in a Peli™ Case.

      The 4015 Wide Cardioid Microphone
The off-axis characteristics of the MMC4015 Wide Cardioid Microphone Capsule are totally linear, a unique quality when it comes to authentic sound reproduction. Any leakage that occurs from off-axis sound sources is still a faithful reproduction of these sounds, just softly attenuated.

Sometimes a conventional cardioid pattern just isn’t quite open enough. Recording orchestras or other ensembles sometimes requires a compromise between blending in the room reverberation and a more precise localization. When recording instruments with complex radiation patterns, the wide cardioid (also known as hemispheric) design covers a greater sound angle and is an excellent choice. This is the often ideal mic for recording grand piano, guitar, marimba, and percussion, or as a spot mic for groups in a symphony orchestra. Likewise, it is an excellent speech, dubbing, or vocal mic as its enhanced richness on the bass end nicely compliments many voices.

      ST4015A Stereo Pair

Our wide cardioid microphones are capable of handling extremely high sound pressure levels before clipping occurs. The 4015A Wide Cardioid Microphone even includes a 20 dB pad switch in the center of the XLR connector to prevent overloading of the mic amplifier.

The foam design in the heavy-duty transportation box allows for fast and easy exchange of the microphone/accessory inlays.

      ST4015C Stereo Pair
This pair is similar to the ST4015A Stereo Pair, using the same MMC4015 Wide Cardioid Microphone Capsule to gain its amazing sound.

Visually discreet, the 4015C Compact Wide Cardioid Microphone represents an indispensably low-profile solution for audio engineers and set designers alike. Tremendously precise and natural sounding, these mics will certainly exceed expectations when used on choirs, percussion setups, grand pianos, wind instruments and much more.

What strikes me first of all is how small the body is and thus placement in tight places is made a lot easier. In my opinion where the 2011C really excels is as a spot mic for prominent cymbals, namely the hi-hat and ride.
