I’ve been working in live sound in various capacities for around 17 years now and I don't really remember a time before being stood behind a mixing desk.

I’m mainly involved with mixing rock and metal and over the years this has included Anthrax, Amon Amarth, The Used, Ghost, Devin Townsend, Black Label Society, Soil, American Headcharge, Annihilator, Prong, Paradise Lost, Katatonia and Crowbar along with my current and main band, Satyricon.

Career highlights

I think some of the highlights of my career have included mixing Satyricon in their hometown of Oslo with a full brass section along with several guest musicians to a sold out audience and using the entire front of house everything to accommodate the show.

Closing the Golden Gods Awards in London and also opening the same award show in Los Angeles in the same year both times with Anthrax. Especially bearing in mind for the latter I had been flown over from London to mix 3 songs. Mind blowing shows!

Headlining the Summer Breeze festival in Germany with Katatonia must also count as a highlight and although I wasn’t mixing sound, working on the Barry Gibb tour as Steven Gibbs guitar tech is also way up there on the list too.

Favorite DPA Microphones

I'm currently using the d:vote™ 4099D's for toms, snare top and bottom and in some instances I’ve been using them for hats and ride too. Recently I’ve been trying out the d:facto™ for my lead vocals.
