Eddy Bøgh Brixen on the Recording & Production Track Event RP01 Panel
Our very own Audio Specialist, Eddy Bøgh Brixen, has been invited to appear as one of three microphone experts in a masterclass with the objective to demystify the most important microphone specs and provides the attendees with up-to-date information on how these specs are obtained and can be interpreted.
Furthermore, many practical audio demonstrations are given in order to help everyone to understood how the numbers relate to the perceived sound.
The panel debate will take place Wednesday, October 17, 10:45 am — 12:15 pm (1E21), and is presented in association with the AES Technical Committee on Microphones and Applications.
Jose Frias Shares Expert Advice on Concealed Miking Techniques At AES New York 2018
Sound Engineer and DPA Microphones Masters Club member Jose Frias will speak about his use of our microphones during the AES New York 2018 Live Production Sound Stage Sessions. Frias’ session, Concealed Miking with DPA Microphones – LS08, will take place Thursday, October 18, from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm. The Live Production Stage is located on the show floor next to the exhibits.
During this live demonstration, Frias will share his expert advice on concealed miking techniques for film and television using our d:screet™ line of lavalier microphones as well as the new d:screet™ CORE Subminiature Microphone, which is making its U.S. debut at the show. As part of the session, Frias will go through different mic choices, wardrobe considerations, mounting accessories and proper etiquette when dealing with talent or subjects.
Frias currently serves as partner and head of production at Chapter Four, a New York City-based full-service creative boutique that provides and facilitates content creation. Frias’ credits range from film and documentaries to reality shows, corporate projects and political interviews.
AES Paper Session: Stepped Acoustic Transmission Line Model of Interference Tubes for Microphones
On Friday, October 19 from 9:00AM-12:00PM EST, DPA will present its paper on Stepped Acoustic Transmission Line Model of Interference Tubes for Microphones (P12-1) at the AES NY Paper Session (P12).
Francesco Bigoni from Aalborg University, Finn T. Agerkvist from the Technical University of Denmark and Eddy Bøgh Brixen, R&D and applications support at DPA Microphones will present the paper, which is an extension of the standing-wave model of interference tubes for microphones by Ono et al.
The presentation will discuss how the original model accounts for three acoustic parameters: tube length, tube radius, and constant acoustic conductance per unit length as well as DPA’s extension that allows a varying conductance per unit length along the side wall.
In short, if you are at AES 2018, don't miss out on these amazing chances to learn directly from some of the best audio professionals in our industry.
