I am a recording engineer actively working in the business for over 26 years. I was nominated in the category of Best Engineer Album Classical for the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards. I specialize in classical music recording and live broadcast. I am responsible for most of the 250+ live concert broadcasts each year heard on WFMT Radio in Chicago. I also teach recording and production at DePaul University and Columbia College, both in Chicago.


 

Favourite DPA Microphones

My pair of 4011s! I used them for stereo pickup for chamber music and orchestral recordings. I also really like them on grand piano and have had really good results using them for operatic voices. For the latest orchestra recording that will be released on Cedille Records, we recorded 32 track out of which we used 8 4011s. (I think we might have used more, but between my engineering college and I, we had access to 8). I also used B&K 4006 & 4007s owner by WFMT.
