"Contemporary Classical" is closest to describing what I am most identified with. Regular clients include Yo-Yo Ma and Bang On A Can. I regularly record and reinforce classical and chamber music. I have ongoing relationships with Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and though my work with Yo-Yo regularly find myself in the worlds greatest concert venues. I have recorded numerous albums, including several for Pulitzer-recipient David Lang. I recorded and mixed the Grammy nominate SIlk Road Ensmeble recording "Off The Map", and the current Silk Road Ensemble record "Sing Me Home" was #1 on the Billboard Classical chart.
Over the years I have also worked with artists who drift into the world of theater and art, including Laurie Anderson, Meredith Monk and others. I have designed site-specific audio installations, done projects with architects and installation artists, and designed many theatrical, dance, and opera productions.
I also work regularly in New York Television production, when a live-music mix is involved. I have mixed broadcasts for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, MTV, CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX networks.
Recognizing a gap in the music industry between what big-budget TV productions do for live broadcast events and what the classical and art-world presenters budgets allow for, I started a new company - Little Dog Live - which brings near TV-quality multi-camera live broadcast (via internet streaming) to artists and presenters with smaller budgets. This summer we hosted several live streams that reached tens of thousands of viewers across the globe.
In all of these scenarios over the years, DPA microphones have played a role.
