Back Lobe (Back Lobe Shape)

An expression related to the directivity pattern of antennas and microphones. The back lobe shows the sensitivity versus angle to signals coming from the back. First-order microphones (except for omnidirectionals) have a main lobe (on-axis direction) and a back lobe. Higher-order microphones (and antennas) also have side lobes.
