What is "Direct Sound"?

Direct Sound

Sound that travels directly from the source to the receiving point (microphone or ear). Direct sound is an undisturbed sound field, which means it is free of any reflections.

The sound field can either be a radial sound field (relatively close to a point source) or it can be a plane sound field at a greater distance from the sound source.
