What is "ORTF"?

ORTF

An abbreviation for Office de Radiodiffusion Télévision Française (French Radio and Television Office). Also a name for a specific microphone setup for near-coincident stereo recording with two cardioid microphones. The distance between the microphones is 17 cm (6.7 in) and the angle between the microphones: 110°, which to some extent, emulates the position of ears on the human head.
