Since 2017, 4099 Instrument Mics have benefited from DPA’s CORE technology and now it’s time for CORE+. While CORE by DPA is a powerful technology that minimizes distortion, CORE+ offers even more, taking the 4099 to the next level.
As can be seen from the illustration below, CORE+ pushes distortion down to an absolute minimum across the entire dynamic range. Yet beyond that, CORE+ also significantly extends the dynamic range. The 1% THD threshold has been pushed 10 dB higher, meaning the microphone maintains linearity across a much wider input range. Additionally, the clipping point of the 4099 has been increased by 3 dB, allowing it to handle even more extreme sound pressure levels without compromising sound quality.

Beyond CORE+, the design and construction of the 4099 and its clip program has been completely revamped. All this, to set a new benchmark for excellence in instrument miking with the enhanced 4099 and its upgraded clip program.

An innovative, completely redesigned gooseneck locking mechanism that features a two-step locking mechanism for effortless and precise gooseneck positioning with just one hand. In addition, the rubber base features a two-material construction, which enhances isolation from structure-borne noise.
In addition to introducing the new G-MOUNT, we’ve made slight modifications to the clip itself. An angled base enhances the full functionality of the G-MOUNT and makes it easier to rotate
The Cello Clip has been completely redesigned to incorporate G-MOUNT. We’ve also refined its shape for easier one-handed placement on the instrument. It is still possible to position the clip under the strings, as it is the same height as before
The G-MOUNT’s 90-degree rotation and 45-degree incline, makes positioning the 4099 more precise and intuitive than ever. Stronger magnets ensure an even more stable attachment to the instrument
The XLR-MOUNT is a valuable extension to DPA’s instrument clip lineup.
Featuring the same rubber base as the Gooseneck Mount, it seamlessly slides on to all clips compatible with the G-MOUNT. Designed to securely hold a 19 mm pencil compact microphone (2012, 4011C or similar) or XLR adapter, its thumb-screw mechanism enables effortless angle adjustments without losing grip on the XLR or microphone. Like the G-MOUNT, it also provides effective structure-borne noise isolation.
Additionally, it can help manage cables for a neat and organized setup.
The following clip designs remain unchanged. At launch, we will replace the current rubber mount with the G-MOUNT.
